Quantum Computing Funding Ranking
Quantum computing companies build gate-model or annealing quantum processors — superconducting, trapped-ion, photonic, neutral-atom and silicon-spin platforms — plus the control, error-correction and software stacks around them. This page ranks quantum computing companies worldwide by total disclosed venture and public-market funding.

How to read this ranking
Quantum computing absorbs most of the capital in this dataset, but the money is spread across four very different kinds of company: full-stack processor builders, component and control-stack suppliers, public-market issuers, and firms whose funding is partly governmental. The table below ranks 48 of them by cumulative disclosed financing of about $16B; it is a capital ranking, not a benchmark of qubit quality.
Why disclosed funding is a poor proxy for technical lead
A photonic company building fabrication partnerships needs a different order of capital from a trapped-ion team improving gate fidelity in one laboratory. Both may be technically excellent; only one shows up near the top of a funding table. We therefore treat the amount as a statement about capital intensity and investor conviction, not about computational performance.
This is also why we keep valuation out of the ranking. A headline valuation is a negotiated number between existing and new shareholders; disclosed cash is what actually arrived. Mixing the two inflates totals for companies that happen to have announced a down round or a SPAC.
The four capital profiles in this table
Full-stack private companies raise large, infrequent rounds tied to fabrication or deployment milestones. Public issuers use equity offerings and at-the-market programmes that are drawn down over months. Component suppliers raise smaller rounds but often reach revenue earlier. A small group appears through policy instruments such as letters of intent, where no priced equity changed hands at all.
When you scan the list, identify which of those four a row belongs to before comparing it with its neighbour. A Quantinuum row built mostly from public-market programmes and a $110M median row built from a single Series B are not measuring the same thing.
What to check before comparing two companies
First, currency and disclosure conventions: RMB-denominated announcements are converted at an approximate rate and treated as lower bounds. Second, whether grants and public procurement are bundled into a headline figure. Third, whether a round is a priced equity transaction, a convertible, or a programme total. Fourth, the date: a cumulative total from 2021 and one from a filing last month have very different error bars.
Our methodology page documents each of those decisions. Where two outlets quote different amounts for the same round, we keep one de-duplicated event and note the corroborating reports rather than adding both figures to the total.
What would change this ranking
A new SEC filing, a confirmed IPO, a large sovereign or strategic investment, or a correction to a previously reported RMB figure can all move a row. Conversely, a technical breakthrough with no financing attached will not move it at all. That asymmetry is the single most important limitation of the page, and the reason we publish the underlying JSON for anyone who wants to rebuild the ranking under different rules.
What the numbers on this page actually show
Of the 48 companies on this list, 48 have a disclosed cumulative figure and 0 do not. The median disclosed total is $110M; the three largest rows (Quantinuum, PsiQuantum, IonQ) account for roughly 37% of all capital tracked here, led by Quantinuum. That concentration is a property of capital-intensive hardware, not a verdict on which technology works best.
Every figure is a lower bound. Undisclosed rounds, partially disclosed RMB amounts, grants bundled into a financing package and public-market programmes drawn down over months all move the same row in different directions. We publish the underlying JSON so you can recompute the table under your own rules; the ranking rule itself is documented on the methodology page, and the reasoning behind editorial choices is on the editorial policy page.
